Benefit tomorrow for Jayson!

So Kelly and I have a benefit tomorrow to raise money for a little boy named Jayson who is ill. He needs a surgery that the family cannot afford. We are going to be at the event with one of our most extravegent, fun, candy tables yet. We have some of the coolest things! We have sour keys, giant gummie strawberries, sour strips, cotton candy, chocolate covered marshmellows, pretzels with craazy decorations, CAKE POPS ( these are so fun!) the choices are almost endless! We are very excited and hope this event is a great success!

If anyone would like to attend here are some details:

"The tickets are 10.00 and you can bring anyone you want just let me know and I will get you tickets. It is for a good cause and it should be a good time. DJ Fingaz with guest DJ's performing, door prize, raffles. It is at the French Club at 647 Franklin Blvd in Cambridge. Again anyone is welcome to come!"

Sometimes the days are so tiresome and seem like they are never ending. With the two of us working a full time job plus planning these events and squeezing time in to prepare everything, it is hard and success seems so far off... BUT we are so glad to be able to help at a benefit ,like tomorrow, for Jayson. As busy and stressful as life gets we need to be thankful that we are healthy and have an opportunity like this to help someone who needs it!

United Way Event!

Hello!

This past Monday Kelly and I put on an event at our work for United Way! There were a fair number of people that came by the table and we raised just over $100 for United Way! This was a fund day and great wy to raise money for United Way and get Sugar's name out there!

We set up the table in a Valentines Day theme like we previously showed an exaple of on the blog here. Here's a picture of Kelly and I!

We had a jelly bean guess and to our surprise there was 1,062 jelly beans in the jar! Crazy! We announced our winner at work yesterday and she won the gift basket that we put together for the draw!

We hope everyone that came to visit us on Monday enjoyed the candy and the table! We hope you will continue to spread the word about Sugar.

We have finalized our pricing for Sugar.! Our services will include set-up and take down of the table on the day of the event. We also include all table décor in whatever color you wish to match the event! All candy, jars, scoops, prongs and baggies for your guest to fill with candy are also included!

Serves 50 to 100 guests

Birthday/Shower pricing

**For birthday parties and showers pricing is a little different as these parties are usually on a smaller scale. **

We also offer to have Sugar. girls there for the duration of the event to distribute candy if needed. This cost would be discussed at the time of booking as it may vary depending on how many girls needed, the dates, times etc.

Feel free to choose any package for your event regardless of the number of people. If you don’t think as many people will eat from the buffet by all means choose a smaller package. All of our packages are extravagant and pleasing to the eye. We can make your vision a reality.

Hi everyone! 

So last night Kelly and I did up a mock table for what we are going to be doing for United Way. This is just an example of some of our work so we are excited to be able to finally show you what we are capable of. Since we are getting close to Valentines day we kept with that theme.

Hi Again!!!

Ok so change of plans. We really feel that we should be focusing on only our Candy Buffet service at this point.
We have received a lot of interest around it and requests for the service. We think this would be a good starting point for us to break into wedding/event decorating.

We decided the name for our candy buffet service is…

Next week we are looking at registering the name and getting a business number! Yay! This is all very exciting for us! We designed a business card today and can't wait to share with all of you!

2011!!!

We hope everyone had a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year!

Over the past couple of weeks we have been working to get our name out there…mainly by telling friends and family of what we are looking to do with our business and how we want to grow. We also do a lot of advertising with Kijiji.ca!

We had an opportunity come up to make party favors for a Christmas party! It was a really cute project and good for any Christmas event! We took pretzels and dipped them in different kinds of chocolate and did them up in cute packaging! It was a great addition to the party and everyone enjoyed being able to take something home! Check out the pics!

We also have an event coming up that we are preparing for. We are getting to do our candy buffet for the charity United Way!

We are really looking forward to it and can't wait to post pictures for everyone!

The begining!

Welcome to our first ever blog for Something Old Something New!!!!!

Our names are Kelly  and Courtney . We currently work in a call center full time and find that most of the spare time we have between calls is spent thinking of a way to finally be our own boss! LOL We think we have finally come up with a way!

Over the months we have had tons of ideas for businesses, ranging from having a thrift shop to owning a restaurant. Anything and everything we have thought of it. We ended up deciding on Wedding Decorating.

We both have a love for creativity, and weddings open up a a wide range of options for us to be creative. We are looking to specialize in head tables, cake tables, back drops, center pieces, table overlays, chair covers, party favors, place cards, archways....anything you can think of we are open to!

One service we are going to offer which will set us apart from other decorators is the sweets table which clients will have the option of adding to any package!

The sweets table is filled with jars and glass containers filled with all different types of candy and chocolate! We decorate the table in ways that compliment the decor of the hall and looks very enticing to guests of all ages!
